My Priorities for Our Area

INFRASTRUCTURE

Fix it properly, not repeatedly

Years of neglect have left roads, pavements, and drainage in poor condition. We need to stop patching problems and start fixing them properly.

  • Push for long-term repairs, not quick patch jobs

  • Hold utility companies accountable for poor reinstatement

  • Improve tracking so residents can see what’s being fixed and when

  • Focus on preventative drainage maintenance to reduce flooding

POLICING & COMMUNITY SAFETY

Visible policing. Real deterrence.

People should feel safe where they live. That means visible policing, action on antisocial behaviour, and better communication with residents.

  • Push for consistent, visible foot patrols

  • Tackle antisocial behaviour and dangerous driving

  • Support stronger action on drugs and county lines

  • Improve communication between police and the community

LITTER & DOG FOULING

Cleaner streets through action

We all take pride in where we live. Standards should reflect that.

  • More bins in the right locations

  • Street cleaning at weekends, not just weekdays

  • Enforce fines for littering and dog fouling

  • Support community clean-up initiatives

"A vote for me is a vote to be heard."

PARKING

Fair for locals. Support for businesses.

Parking should work for residents and local businesses, not against them.

  • Explore a borough-wide residents’ permit scheme

  • Increase long-stay parking options

  • Review pricing and time limits

  • Make parking simpler, clearer, and fairer

SOCIAL & CHILD CARE

Transparency, accountability and better outcomes

Social care and children’s services must work for those who rely on them, with support reaching the right people and money spent where it matters.

This includes reviewing how services are delivered, particularly the use of private providers, and whether more can be brought in-house to improve accountability and value.

  • Review where funding goes and how it’s used

  • Ensure support reaches those who need it most

  • Challenge outcomes, value and delivery models including private vs in-house

  • Push for greater transparency and clearer reporting

VALUE FOR MONEY

Making Public Money Work Properly

Across everything, my focus is simple, making sure public money is spent properly, efficiently, and transparently.

Residents should be able to trust that what they pay in is being used in the right places and delivering real value.

COMMUNITY INPUT

This Is About You

These are my priorities, but what matters most is what you want.

I want to hear from residents across Blackshaw, Erringden, Wadsworth, Heptonstall, Hebden Bridge and Todmorden East.

Your views, concerns, and ideas will help shape what I focus on and what I fight for.

Tell Me What Matters To You

A Different Kind of Representation

I’m standing as an Independent candidate because I believe our area deserves a stronger, more proactive voice, one that listens, asks questions, and focuses on real, practical improvements.

I’m not here to make promises I can’t guarantee. What I will do is work hard, challenge where needed, and push for better outcomes for our community.

Too often things are only dealt with once they’ve gone wrong. I want to help shift that towards maintaining, reviewing, and improving things before they reach that stage.

Your Valley. Your Voice. Your Choice.

If you have concerns, ideas, or issues you’d like raised, please get in touch.

A Better Approach

  • Proactive, not reactive

  • Common sense, not bureaucracy

  • People before party

  • Community first, always

A Vote for Me Is a Vote For

  • Independence

  • Accountability

  • Proactive action

  • A stronger local voice
